telekin: Digital Design: About

Who are you?

I am a freelance digital designer based in London. I strive to offer both existing and potential clients the very best in attractive, cutting edge digital design. I am here to provide you with a solution to your problem, whether it be a one-off, standalone interactive presentation or a full and immersive website. I specialise in creating an aesthetically pleasing product; fluid and balanced interfaces and engaging interactive projects and animations.

Ok, I get it. Why should I care?

Well, the jury's out on that, but if you're in the internet game and are lacking in a certain area of your business - whatever the scale - and feel I could help, please do get in touch. I thrive on new and challenging opportunities and am always on the look out to get involved in new ventures and help people out.

So what can you do?

To me, the visuals are of paramount importance, so this website has been developed as a visual dumping ground for the vast amount of work I've produced in my career. It's low on words (bar this bit) and big on pictures and demonstrates not only the work I've done for countless clients but also a large array of media that I've conjured up just because, well, this is all I ever do. If you haven't already done so, please have a browse through the site sections and have a look at the galleries therein. The freelance and Bauer Media sections would be a good start, as combined they document the best part of the last decade of my professional life. If you do want to get technical then I'd say my strongest attributes are web design, conceptual design, logo and brand design, photo manipulation, 2D animation and HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Flash, Fireworks and Dreamweaver.

I see. Who have you done stuff with?

The logos below outline some of the people I have worked with over the years. Through involvement with these media folk I have also worked for such organisations as rich and diverse as Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Barclaycard, BlackBerry and, er, Maltesers. Personally I love Maltesers, so that was a dream come true...

Right. Thanks for that. So I'm on your homepage but there's a lot of weird stuff at the bottom. What's all that about?

As I briefly touched on, my involvement with creative design seeps into my personal life more often than not. When I'm not trying to find this month's rent I'm usually trying to create some kind of peculiar game, inventing ridiculous animations or making celebrities look like aliens. Those bits are a little bit like graphical misfits but are as much part of me as all the serious corporate professionalism stuff - I mean, you've got to have a laugh with these things, right? So it might be worth bearing in mind that those bits are to be taken with a pinch of salt. They are meant to be as much fun to look at and experience as they were to make.

So how much, then?

Well that naturally depends on the scale of each project, but I'd like to think my rates are competitive and delivered promptly and to very good standard. I pride myself on having never missed a project deadline in my life and don't intend to start doing so any time soon. I have basic hourly and daily rates but have it on good authority that I frequently go to 'above and beyond' levels to make sure the people I work for get the utmost in deliverable content. So please do contact me if you'd like to discuss the matter further.
